I am interested in the progress of this development. For me the "ideal" gliding computer solution would offer: - Daylight viewable display (as in every time you glance at it, you can read it). - Serial connection into a smart vario to provide true airspeed data to allow for zig zag wind calculations. - Simultaneous serial interconnection to a Flarm for "Flarm radar". - Modest power consumption. (Significantly less than my hx4700) - Convenient power connector from the glider 12V supply to the computer and add-on card. Optional nice to have features: - A third serial connection for a logger + application to allow for downloading traces and uploading task declarations without playing with plugs. Maybe download traces from the Flarm too. - A 3G cell phone connection + application to allow live (or near live) tracking data to be uploaded to a website. Mainly to provide a tracking record for search and rescue purposes, but also for the convenience of those waiting on the ground. Finally on the wish list. - USB host interface(s) for future proofing connectivity with new generations loggers etc. Maybe the Dell Streak + the "IOIO" board + Xcsoar are the building blocks for such a system. In the meantime I will hang onto my hx4700.
