Hmmm ..

I can't imagine that XCS is working too slow on old devices.
I told several times in this forum, that I've been flying withXCS 6.0x on an stone-age Ipaq 3850 and I never had any problems with performance.. (I used the big maps ...) I just don't knowe what the guys are clicking all the time ???

If XCS is configured well - I think there is no need to click ..???
So maybe even older hardware was used (older than an 3850 ???) or an other failure occured ...??

Completely satisfied with XCS ,
Regs, Claus

ps - Max:

I completetly agree with you that windows (not only CE :-)) is an horrible OS, but - it was doing it's job in klix (jsut to mention, that xcs wasn't used just for joke ...) this year without any failure using three 3850 and two 3970 in the gliders of my friends .....

you know: 3850 is equipped with ppc 2002... - not 2003 :-((

One more time:
*extremely well done , crew!! *

I'll stay tuned and be back on writing an german quick-manual for 6.2 with beginning of winter / november !!!
Hope I get my entrance to /git/ one more time again :-))

I could not agree more, I have yet to see any reason to replace my Ipaq'a for

Future XCSoar versions will still be available on those ancient
devices. Nobody will be forced to replace his beloved old ipaq.

We're still working hard to make XCSoar run smoother on those. If you
had performance regression after upgrading to XCSoar 6.0/6.1, the
upcoming version 6.2 might be worth another try.

(Though I couldn't agree more with Folken. Windows CE is a horrible
operating system, only beaten by Windows ME. After all, the Android
port of XCSoar was my pet project, for very good reasons.)
