your proposal sounds good to me. However I think it is not directly 
related to the design of multiple waypoint navigation.
It is just a new type of marker. You could also call it temporary turnpoint.
It makes no differece if you navigate there or monitor it using 
ALT1/ALT2 or T,1,2 solution.

I think we should try to split up the requests in seperate tickets so it 
does not get to complicated.
If you put your request in a ticket we can put a referece to it, as one 
of the potential uses of  multiple turnpoint navigation.
