Thanks for the input Andreas. I guess an important point is to identify an Android device with which using xournal would be reasonable. With 80+ tablets about to be released...they can't ALL be useless toys like the iPad...can they?
Some do come with a stylus, such as the ASUS Eee Pad MeMO. http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/04/asus-eee-pad-memo-tablet-takes-a-pen-out-of-the-couriers-book/ but it's capacitive. I haven't (yet) find an android device that also contains an active digitizer. The enTourage Edge might...though it seems to be universally hated. Here's a list of upcoming xournal-appropriate devices containing active digitizers, but none use Android: HP Slate 500 Motion Computing CL900 Asus Eee Slate EP121 Lenovo IdeaPad Slate Viliv X10 (in addition to the usual convertible laptops from Lenovo, HP, Fujitsu, Toshiba that we're all using) On the other hand, making an Android app might give hardware guys the idea to add an active digitizer... The GPL only requires that source code be provided to people receiving the program. It says nothing about the price. With the source code freely available (as it is now), anyone would be able to get it for free if they're willing to compile it themselves... -- Cheers, Bob McElrath [ Heidelberg University, Theoretical Physics ] "If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the Universe." -- Carl Sagan ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Protect Your Site and Customers from Malware Attacks Learn about various malware tactics and how to avoid them.
