With a sufficiently precise capacitive multi-touch tablet, it should be possible to use software to identify the hand from the pen. But I imagine this will still result in a lot of erroneous gestures. I imagine software to try this will explode in the next few months with all these capacitive tablets on the market. > Then it should be possible to write with the finger in a suitable way... > Or something like this... No, I do physics/math on my tablet, on paper I use a 0.5mm mechanical pencil. My finger is big and fat compared to that. There's no way I could write an equation involving exponents, limits of integration, etc, using my fat finger. I also couldn't do my work with a crayon. A stylus with high precision and a narrow tip is an absolute requirement. -- Cheers, Bob McElrath [ Heidelberg University, Theoretical Physics ] "If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the Universe." -- Carl Sagan ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Protect Your Site and Customers from Malware Attacks Learn about various malware tactics and how to avoid them.
