I got interesting behaviour. * If both, xournal and the debugging messages are visible, Xournal keeps working properly.
but * If the debug window is covered, then Xournal keeps on not redrawing at random intervals (they look like bands across the entire page --rectangles to be more precise, where nothing is redrawn). SO I thought, maybe it has to do with refreshing the screen. I displayed a youtube video, and at random intervals xournal would stop AND the youtube video would freeze at the same time. If i keep writing at some point both would resume at the same time.
