comrades I am for the idea that our president JM in the YL is not being adviced properly there is a deliberate attack on him by internal forces that want to oust him politically and send these mixed messages for him to publicly announce. he is a groomed leader indeed i just question his close friends. if i were him i would surround myself with the communist youth. his views on Cde Jeremy are misleaded he would agree that this was a mistake and the onws on thabo mbeki are emotional but not practical TM has made mistakes that proves he is human and not an animal.
let us stop this fighting and concentrate on the NDR were is the youth agency lets get on the work and stop playing. shasha 0722157052 BUILDING SOCIALISM FOR A BETTER FUTURE FOR ALL. ________________________________ From: Phumlani Dlamini <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Tue, November 24, 2009 10:57:35 AM Subject: [YCLSA Discussion] Re: YCLSA Disgusted by Malema's Racism and Insults Cde Sabelo. I totally agree with you, once the paper is out it will be systematically engaged. For now, issues are being crowded and propagated disjointedly, when you think we are discussing nationalisation of the mines, someone talk about communists wanting to take over the ANC and to me this is a loaded political statement. It is tantamount to rallying ANC members against the party (YCL by extension). I heard from the media that YCL is or will be seeking audience with ANC YL and I hope what the media attribute to Malema as his response to YCL is not true. I personally think that the current developments also indicate challenges facing the PYA. I am certain that through frank dialogue the PYA structures will find each other on the current critical matters. Where I know I am not wrong is that the ANCYL has engaged the NEC of the ANC to receive a paper on nationalisation to be discussed in the next NEC, serious communists will die to find the space to contribute to that paper such that it is a strong paper that can withstand the attack from the rightwing in the NEC of the ANC and it must be such that it is for the benefit of the working class as a whole. I am happy with my federation's position that has decided on a bilateral with the ANCYL so that we may influence the content of the paper in a comradely manner. They initiated and provoked the debate and Cronin is debating (dissect the themes that emanate from his article soberly). It is wrong for YL to opportunistically use Mandela’s name to justify racism. It is no insult but a fact that the YL position on the nationalisation of mine has been poorly theorised from the on set. YL and its ideologues have again squandered an opportunity to solidify its position as they previously did when trying to respond to our veteran Prof Ben Turok’s article, instead, they hurled insult at the old man. Let us agree that YL has played a man and not the ball in this and other instances in the past. Their statement about our SACP SG drinking red wine is still fresh in our minds. This style of political engagements must not only be condemned but be vigorously engaged. Poor Malema! The YCL believes that Malema has sunk to the lowest ebb of being racist and hurling insults, instead of engaging with profound debates that Cde. Cronin was raising. We view the labelling of Cde. Cronin as a "white messiah" not only as racist, but as an insult to the principle and ideology of the National Liberation Movement, that of non-racism. We are confident that the majority of members of the ANC Youth League do not share these racist and insulting labels. We also view the racist and insulting labels as a lost opportunity for Malema to engage with the all important debate on "nationalisation". We must emphasise that the "call for nationalisation" is not the preserve of Malema, and that invitation to debate should not be a trap to lure people into a racist, insulting and senseless room. Why invoke Nelson Mandela to justify Racist and Insulting Labels We note that Malema substitute a sensible debate for insults and racist labels, and bravery for disrespect; but we believe that we can disagree on any issue and still maintain respect as comrades. What is worse is that Malema invokes the names of respectable leaders of the ANC, including Nelson Mandela, to justify this nonsensical insults and racist remarks. The fact that Mandela was not a communist at the time and used to disrupt Communist Party meetings does not give Malema permission to act in such backward fashion. Mandela has recorded these auto-biographical facts so that we learn from it, and not repeat it like headless chickens with the hope that we (including Malema) will one day be like Mandela. If we do that, it means that we should follow every little act and statement that Mandela made like parrots, even when the conditions do not allow. We now know more about the need for the Alliance and the relationship between the SACP and the ANC than Mandela did, and we should follow his latter day example of respectfully engaging with Alliance leaders. AllianceProtocol We are also disappointed that the call from the ANC President and the Alliance Summit for a "cease of fire" in trading insults is being undermined by Malema. We will in the coming week ask for a meeting with the leadership of the ANC Youth League to discuss this and other matters.
