In the current political discourse everyone is mobilised to be an "cheer
leader" no more shall have any analysis that can be objective in
discussions, An analysis is either aligned with a certain faction or with
the "leadership debate" that seem to pre-occupie everyone in our movement.
South African Student Congress is an Autonomous structure within the
Progressive Youth Alliance and it therefore reserve its right to engage on
any political debates with no consultation of anyone hence the release of
the press statement, the statement is inline with the respect of the state
institutions and understanding the judgement in its entirety.

It is not an attack to the President of the Youth League but an objective
anlysis of the judgement by the Equality court and the statement has got
nothing to do with the leadership debate of 2012, if one argues that SASCO
is engage in such then that person should be consistent with the analysis
and go through the recent press release of SASCO, from the statement on the
Alliance after the Special Congress of the SACP,on Minister Shabangu, to
the statement on Minister Nyanda, further to the statement on the President
of Youth League and be consistent in the analysis, but not to pick a
particular statement an grandstand with it in a quest of political
relevance,

But the matter is everyone is eager that South African Students Congress
should be its ally in their plan of stuffling debates in the interest of
particular faction, which this pose a danger in the entire movement and
create an organisation that cant criticaly engage on any issue but is
surrounded with "yes leaders".

SASCO remains an Autonomous student organisation which is neither a student
wing nor a baby of any organisation and therefore we shall continue to
occupy our space with no fear of any individual who would seek political
relevance with us....
