Merle,

Sorry to hear about your problems. But don't feel alone as we all have our
problems, too! Have you ever tried a course on mindfulness? Although it is a
technique first employed in Buddhism it is now being employed in many secular
settings such as pain relief in hospitals, counselling services,  anger
management courses and prisons - just to name a few. Far from being an "escape"
from reality, mindfulness brings us intimately in touch with our bodies and
what is going on inside us - especially with regard to how our bodily
sensations affects our mind, mood and emotions. Thru mindfulness, we learn that
everything is impermanent including pain.We can then appreciate the beauty and
happiness of life in all moments - rather than suffer due to the worry of when
the pain will return. Mindfulness also works whether you're a Christian,
Buddhist, Muslim or atheist. Check it out.

Mike

Merle,

Play 'Drop the Biblical Quote and Then Run Away and Hide'.

My question to you was "According to Christianity what was the 'purpose' or
'achievement' of Jesus' life (and death)?"

I'll give you a hint. It has to do with 'sin'.

Tag! You're it! ...Bill!
