The Sunlight we see has had a very, long, hard history/life.

It started in a central zone of the Sun as gamma ray photons after fusion of H 
to He (I won't bother about the stoichiometry here).

Then, on a random walk taking hundreds of thousands of years (!), the photons 
migrate out to a more "permeable" zone toward the Sun's surface, and in a 
matter of months, the photons transit this second distinct zone, and heat the 
layer called the "Photosphere" which we see as the "surface" of the Sun, 
glowing at about 5700 degrees Kelvin.  These are the mostly visible white light 
photons that we call sunlight.  The spectrum peaks in the Green.

But that white light came from the extremely high energy gamma rays at first, 
which were emitted by the fusion of H atoms to an He atom, and became gradually 
lowered in energy by multi-trillions of scatterings on the way outward from the 
fusion zone toward the Photosphere, and then the eventual radiation of visible 
light, UV light, and IR light by heating of the black-body radiating gas in the 
Photosphere.

So, the Sunlight is made of non-Sunlight "elements", and originally was 
Hydrogen nuclear MATTER (protons) near the center of the Sun.

That is the pedigree of Sunlight.
