Chris, et al... I have all 3 Books of the SHOBOGENZO by Dogen. The chapter you are referring to - Gabyo - is in Book 2, Chapter 40 of my edition. Strangely the link to which you referred us shows it as Chapter 39.
The text is also a different translation but I didn't compare the two far enough to determine if that is problematic.
