and joe and group...he did it himself...!!!!!
what makes you assume the rest of us can't get there as well..tis not the whole world full of buddhas and demons? must we still sit crossed legged under the "boddhi tree" waiting for the moment?... i smell a faint wiff of incense... i am enlightened..i am fully aware..realisation... so scary is this instant enlightenment eh?.. too much zen to fathom eh?... you don't need a holy man and a handwoven mat... well seems like some do as in any "followers" they cling so tightly to their crutches.. and this too is the belief that they must cling... open the way... drop all your crutches and realise there is nothing to cling to nothing to clutch... read "pincher martin"...a man clinging to a rock in the ocean... why are you clinging why are you clutching... you will not drown...and die maybe revitalised with a clearer vision that all of life is zen it's as easy as that nothing to calculate just be and celebrate forever knowing forever being awake merle Merle, Buddha might not answer that question. No, actually he did. He calls it the Dharma. We have to suppose he went through a rather quick version of it. But he was an advanced student. He awakened suddenly upon seeing the Morning Star ...as we awaken suddenly if we have a good teacher. Buddha exhausted his five teachers, and almost his own life, and awakened at the last possible moment. It was the start of a whole new day. Now, why, why do you ask? Do you want to follow the Buddha? Or follow some other teacher? Awaken on your own? Not much chance of that. Better to have five teachers and exhaust them first. Buddha set a good example. Did he not? Practice alleviates *some* suffering whether we awaken or not, so it's still to be recommended that correct practice can be beneficial. As you already know. --Joe > Merle Lester <merlewiitpom@...> wrote: > > joe... siska... how did buddha know?..merle
