Thanks for your reply, Mike. OK, let's start such a thread.
I'd like to say first, though, that I too "think" in terms of body-mind, as the
reality, and not so much of "mind and body". I don't think I'm a radical, but
I even claim that practice is "mostly physical", don't I? By this I mean that
the practice that seems most effective is physical practice, not something to
do with a fictitious "mind". The false mind dies off on its own, when the body
is poised to allow it to do so. Buddha mind or Buddha nature is then revealed,
and participated in clearly.
By the way, do you also know that some mudras are used in teaching in some
schools? Maybe Theravada and Tibetan. I think there are images of the Buddha,
too -- statues, and paintings -- in which the Buddha is holding the hands and
fingers in various "teaching" mudras. I don't know much about that.
