mike ... did i say that?..have ya tried magic mushrooms? merle

Merle,

There is nothing immoral about wanting to explore *our* consciousness (emphasis
on 'our') and using 'tools' that have been used without harm for millennia.

mike...we have our own moral compass..if we are enlightened young enough we
know the scoreboard and act accordingly..
many young uns know nothing! and as adults know nothing..and they vote..
law can be an honourable profession but in many instances it merely backs up
the status quo.. merle

Joe,

That's just being wilfully blind to human experience though. Humans have taken
drugs to change their consciousness since time immemorial - always have and
always will. How is a kid expected to "respect the law" when they see adult
society drinking and smoking (causing uncountable damage to their health and
the wider community) and yet they go to jail for smoking a little pot? The law
is an ass and it's written by liars and thieves. Did 4 years of law school and
couldn't wait to get out.

Mike,

A kid with a respect for the Law would just wait. Some do.

Like me: I did not take a drink in New Jersey until I was 21.

I went just across the bridge to New York, where at 18 it was legal.

PS (My Dad bought me my first "New Jersey" draught beer at a simple
neighborhood working-man's bar on my 21st birthday. It was lovely. We walked
the one block from the old family house, to there, and back, and then continued
the party at home. Then I went out with friends. Ooh, days gone by... ).
Still respecting the Law (in most respects). ;-)
