PBS,

Another good analogy.

Describing a monistic experience is virtually impossible using language because
language, at least English, is inherently dualistically oriented assuming a
subject/object relationship. And it's 100 times more difficult in a text-based
medium like the Zen Forum.

This is why many of the dialogues between zen adepts or zen teacher to zen
students, many of which are the basis of koans, sound so cryptic and illogical.
It is because the speakers, at least one of them, are attempting to describe
something illogical; something without a subject/object - monism.

What is Buddha Nature? A dried-shit stick. The oak tree in the garden. Three
pounds of flax. Mu. Katz! [Raise one finger]. [Place sandals on head, turn
around and walk away.], etc...

Or...Just THIS!

...Bill!
