Maybe you should read the newspaper. Every day hundreds (thousands around the world) have tragedy in their lives. How many people in the Tsunami lost their entire families? And were/are poverty stricken? And they have no work, income, or village to go to? They can be thankful to be alive. Just today I read about an abducted 9 year-old girl whose remains were found. The killer had confessed a day earlier. How do her parents feel? You believe that they do not have a good reason to be depressed? Perhaps what you mean is that people who have a good reason to be depressed have to avoid depression? Deal with it? I think that you are a thoughtful person, and perhaps you can explain tragic circumstances and how an average person can deal with it as a student of Zen? ------------------------ Yahoo!
