Agreed! You've just given an excellent argument against capital punishment. If you don't people to death because there is a possibility that even one of them is totally innocent (and we know this has happened), you are erring on the side of life. > But a repeat offender, by all accounts, stands > infinitesimal chance of being wrongly accused twice > in > a row for doing the same thing. The truth is that when a sex offender is convicted the first time, he or she has most likely already perpetrated numerous offences. Big deal? Castration is wrong. You don't seem to understand that's these types of crimes are about the mind, the ignorance, attachment and aversion focusing on gaining power and control through sexuality. Castrating someone would not necessarily stop the mental obsessions/fantasies nor the harmful behavior. > Another problem with my theory is that it > presupposes > that all sex offenders are male, which of course is > not true. > > So what do we do with female sex offenders? Castration is a term that can be applied to both men and women. I assume you would be talking about removing the ovaries. > Alex > > > No karma was produced during the composition of this > letter > > > > __________________________________ > Do you Yahoo!? > Yahoo!
