Hi there. Please bear with me. Some of the questions may have long answers but any help you can give will be much appreciated.
I'm a placement student for a company. This company as a monitoring system (DMON) which shows alerts for general things like if the machine is up/down, hard drive usage, CPU usage.. and we also want RAM usage... Now with SNMP Informant I understand its fairly easy to set up things like Hard Drive usage.. but the current system they have, NO modifying is needed on the windows server for example! It uses a host-resources MIB, but I haven't fully got my head around where MIB's are placed.. I'm assuming it would be in the Zenoss system? So these are my questions: How can I monitor CPU for firewalls, routers and servers How can I monitor Hard Disks for Unix and Windows servers How can I monitor RAM for Windows Servers in particular Finally How can I monitor Windows Services and processes. I tried adding a windows service to be monitored on a windows service but it would stay active all the time :s even when the service isn't running.... Any help would be much much much appreciated!
