What types of devices are you trying to monitor. If its switches or routers, are they Cisco devices and if so do you have the snmp-server community setup on it. What happens when you add the 127.0.0.1 device. does it do anything or just sit there. Is the community string on the devices still set to public or have you changed them and if so when you add a device do you type the correct community string in.
