Bumping myself and adding a twist. I've been able to get snmp talking about itself by using snmpwalk on the loopback and IP address. Zenoss still doesn't recognize that SNMP is working on this machine (the server currently hosting Zenoss). By using "snmpd -f -L -d" I get this response:
Error opening specified endpoint "udp:161" Server Exiting with Code 1 Which confirms what nmap has been telling me, namely that port 161 is not open. I have nothing running on IPtables that would prevent this from happening.
