Hi Massimo,
First: If I would pay for a licensed software, I wouldn't even think about an
open source based one.
Second: My job description does not contain a paragraph which would allow me to
spend time on contributing to open source softwares. I highly appreciate
enthusiasm of developers who work on those systems. However, those teams have
no serious quality controle. Therefore, the released software does not meet
production quality requirements. It remains a toy for enthusiasts, but not a
tool for production.
Anyway, I have to say that our company has made serious contributions to
several open source projects, but I am responsible for a whole test lab and
have no time for "do it yourself" systems.
