Try the 'User Agent Toolbar Widget'
[http://texturizer.net/firefox/extensions/#uawidget.] and/or 'User Agent
Switcher' extension for Firefox
[http://texturizer.net/firefox/extensions/#useragentswitcher].

They allow you to set the User-Agent HTTP header string to various
values. Of course YMMV since many non standards-compliant sites rely on
IE-specifics.

You can get an extension for mozilla/firefox that lets you change the
user-agent string (browser id)

http://www.chrispederick.com/work/firefox/useragentswitcher/

you can set your user-agent to IE or whatever it requires when you visit
that broken website

Anyone have any negative opinions about the Turner SS
lines? About to order a set, as I noticed I am in
_quite_ dire need of some new lines while installing
my new suspension.

Any recommendations for other places with
better/higher quality lines appreciated as well.

Also, is Super Blue fluid more hygroscopic than
standard brake fluid, or does the normal change once a
year guideline still applicable?

Interesting..... I'd have thought our arachnid friends would have been

problems with the same system and the same causes a couple of years ago.

This is a problem for anyone with a Macintosh or a Unix/Linux-based
computer, and is actually a technical embarrassment. Neither browser
is being developed for Macs any longer. There is no reason for such a
restriction, unless they are confining themselves to using proprietary
Microsoft technology. As an engineer, I don't know why a serious
business would do that...but no need to start a flame war :-)

Yelp: broken radiator inlet: E36:

So that's what happens? I see all these posting about broken
plastic housings on E36 radiators, but only on race cars and in severe
climates. Well maybe in some temperate zones too?
Would someone please send me the list that was posted recently on
sources for reasonably priced radiators for E36 //M3 or another vendor
for prefereably all metal housing radiators? Ideally a store in
California, SF Bay area is best.
Or to ask and maybe the wish will be answered, anyone in the Bay
Area have an E36 radiator I could buy or borrow cheap for the few days
it will take for a new one to arrive?
Thanks in advance,
Barry

You need to change your UserAgent string that the browser sends.

There's info all over, here's one to look at:

I just installed a set of the older design Bilsteins(got them used) on my 96
M3 with OEM springs. I cut down the internal bump stops, because I was
advised that there might be bottoming if I did not. Other than that, they
work great. Ride is very firm, but no more so than with the OEM shocks.
Bilstein has a newer design that probably does not require the bumpstops to
be cut. Koni's are good also, but Bilsteins are more "serious". Konis set on
medium adjustment still ride softer than Bilsteins. I also don't like the
idea of having to cut your stock struts for the Koni inserts. I did get an
alignment after the install but not sure if you have to. There is little
play in the mounting holes etc, so I would guess that the alignment is just
a comfort item.

You can use Bilstein HDs if you want to stay with stock springs. They're the same
valving, just a
longer body. As mike mentioned, the Koni's are a little more compliant in their
middle and softer
settings, though you have to do surgery on your front struts to put them in.

Thanks Queeg.

The local parts store carries both tubes of silicone grease, and bottles of brake
cylinder assembly lube. I guess for this application, the grease would be the better
choice.

I have a friend I turned on to the V-1 a few months ago. He has a POS
Toyota pickup that he commutes with and mounted the remote display on his
dash, between the tach and speedo I think. Cool thing he's doing now is
rigging a "box" that looks like a CB radio up near the roofline right above
the mirror. He's into fiddling with stuff like that, but anyway he's got a
smoked glass panel that looks a lot like the LED tuner so the rear-facing
antenna works OK. He's got most of it built and it really does look a lot
like a 1980's vintage CB. He's a real radar nut... was into all kinds of
"stuff" in the USAF and raves on about his V-1 ;)

The many open source advocates on the list are making me feel silly for
not installing the useragentswitcher in the first place.
Btw, after a few weeks with the Thunderbird email client, its Junk
mail controls have brilliantly adapted and now less than one in a
hundred spams don't automatically get flagged, and likewise for false
positives.
"Thunderbird makes emailing safer, faster and easier than ever
before with the industry's best implementations of features such as
intelligent spam filters, a built-in spell checker, extension support,
and much more." Check out http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/
Thunderbird lets you say goodbye to rickety bloatware like MSOutlook
forever.
OBMWC: This list is great. A nearby member is stopping by my house on
the way to work in the morning to drop me off a used radiator to get
'Jack back On The Road until the new all metal one arrives.

This takes the mystery out of my car's behavior when the cam position

Does anyone know of links to OBD II drive cycles for specific cars, esp the
E39 M5?

Hello group,

This past Saturday my wife backed into my E36 with our minivan. It wasn't
directly behind her, so she got the driver's side fender. It's not really
too bad and doesn't affect anything functionally, but if someone happens to
have a black one available I'd be interested in buying it. I'm going to try
to see how well it pops out, but with that body line there I don't think I'm
going to have much success.

Thanks,
