You guys don't get it. The man didn't say rollover protection; these
spikes help avoid body roll. They are an alternative to swaybars and
they work like this: under hard cornering the spikes come out the sides
like a pontoon and keep the car from heeling over too far. Geez....

Are these African or European spikes? Can an unladen swallow perch on
them? Are larger diameter ones available for greater roll stiffness?
Has time dilation sent us all back to April 1? Did someone spike our

Brett, if you have time..

I just rebuilt my Ac in my 88 735i, using a Sanden HD7 9.5 ci compressor,
and a reciever drier and switch for 134. I jumped the "mid level switch"
from the old drier, back to itself, as the new switch is just one switch
with 2 pigtails that fit the factory harness. There is no third switch on
the new reciever, and the BMW dealer parts guy told me that they didn't use
it anymore anyway.

There was one switch on the old bosch compressor that isn't on the sanden,
but it looked like the two wires on it were factory jumpered to each other
at the connector.

Anyway, the system runs cool, a little too cool, like 17 degrees at1500
rpms with the low speed fan on.

Outlet temp is about 40 at road speeds.

Pressures are 40 lo and 225 hi, so it looks like those are right.

The compressor never cycles, it just runs continuously, and the pressures
are very consistent.

I am assuming the new switches control high and low cutouts, but I don't
think they would kick if the pressures are in the range.

Am I missing something here..Is the expansion valve suspect? I would think
that it should close when the temp drops, and thus raise the pressure to
the point the compressor clutch kicks out?

Any thoughts..(crackpots on the internet..using factory parts to do it
right...$10 wrench set..)
would be appreciated. Should I insulate the glove box and add a condenser
there for the beer supply? I think at this rate I could probably keep the
entire trunk at 33 degrees.

Thanks, David

What you should see is a 12V supply to one side of each injector. To
open the injector, the controller momentarily grounds the other side,
thus creating the 12V potential across the 2 terminals. 3 injectors
fire at a time.
If you're probing with just a trusty meter, you probably won't see
anything happening, because the injector pulses are exceedingly short at
idle. If your meter has special settings for dwell or injector duty
cycle, then it will probably get a reading.

Considering replacing my stock steering wheel (w/air bag) with a very nice Momo peice.
Question: If the stock 3-point harness is used correctly, does the air bag offer
significant additional safety benefits?

I do believe reading in previous posts that you need to replace your seat
belt that is designed for use without an airbag.

Brian,

In the future use either soft copper, aluminum or brass instead of the
sock. You'll get better grip and no divots in the shaft.

BTW these are likely inverted shocks, so the seal at the top is for dirt
only.
