Coils fail from open or shorted windings, not tiny movement outside the
range. Also internal high voltage flashover will cause no spark but can't
be found with an ohm meter.

David,

Fittment and quality of Supersprints has been superb in my experience (VWs &
BMWs). Sound is quiet at idle and nice low rasp on the throttle...not Bosal-ish
by any means. No suggestions on the pipe issue. If it were me, I'd have a shop
weld it on rather than deal with clamps.

I think that's a great price for this product...I wish it fit my '91 318is!

Hopefully this only goes through twice, sorry if it is posted twice.

I am considering buying a 1991 325i with 160000 miles. The car is super
clean and in very good condition. The carfax report shows that it has
been owned and operated primarily on the east coast. I was concerned
about rust so I gave it a good once over. There are a few spots e.g. in
the sunroof area, but on the sunroof components, not the body itself.
Other parts like engine components are a little white, perhaps from
moisture, but very little discoloration. The door latches are sticky from
this same whiteness. First, the car drives great, and mechanically is in
good shape, but I am concerned that if there is some minor rust in areas
that I cannot see, then this might get worse. From what I can see from
laying on the ground under the car, there is no visible rust. The car
just looks a little weathered underneath the car. On the outside the
paint and body are near perfect. I was thinking that I could perhaps seal
that up with some Wurth (is that how you spell it?)this summer. So what
could be done about some of these issues? Any guys on the east coast out
there that could give advice on this too? Before I buy it, where are some
really important areas to look for these spots. I have looked in the
wheel wells, shock towers in rear and front, trunk generally (under the
carpet), under battery, engine compartment. Where else should I look?
TIA
Ryan-
