PC Anywhere 8.0 can be configured so that the host requires a password
before allowing a session.  I'm not how "secure" that connection is, but it
might provide the protection (at least from internal users) that you need.

We use PC Anywhere with a WP70 configured as "be a host".  Thus operators
can log in from home when the plant is unattended.  As far as I know, PC
Anywhere has worked okay over the last two years I've been working with I/A.


Application is used at a water treatment facility. 

I have a security concern that anyone on our corporate intranet can get into
the WP70 it if they know or accidentally find the TCP/IP address.
