For Myth, I suspect you simply have something somewhere configured incorrectly 
and when it tries to centre the video, it's doing the calculation to the 
wrong screen size. The logs you've posted previously suggest that myth is 
trying to centre on a screen 768 pixels wide. I don't know where to suggest 
that you look, but a dirty fix would be to try setting scan displacement (X) 
(under setup -> tv settings -> playback) to -24.

The artifacts I mention have nothing to do with this, and are caused by a 
slight mis-alignment of the video within the defined playback window. The fix 
doesn't move the playback window, but tries to align the video better within 
that window. It's more of a compromise than a full fix, as the exact 
alignment error depends on the state of the filters, which are not fully 
understood.
