Tricky question that I don't know the answer to. I have an Athlon XP 2200 which leaves 50%-60% idle. However so many things can influence this that I wouldn't like to give an answer (memory performance, cache performance, IDE interface, chipset). I guess if people reply with an indication of what works for them and how much cpu it uses or is free that would help. Also if people have low powered CPU's that aren't fast enough then knowing that would help.
