Help!! I'm a computer programmer who has convinced his wife to standardize on Linux/Gimp for her art licensing business. She saves everything in RGB TIFF, and so far so good...
But now she has a particular client who would like her to use specific Pantone colors in her work, and I know very little about color management, CMYK, Postscript Color, and ICC profiles. Essentially there's a manufacturer overseas that wants a digital file of my wife's artwork for test print runs. They need to match the Pantone colors given by the client, and I haven't a clue how to guarantee this. I want her to continue using Gimp and other free software, so I thought that lcms might be the way to go. If anyone can give me some advice on how to ensure her client gets what she wants, that would be great. I literally don't know what to ask the manufacturer, so I'm seeking knowledge on this entire process. Thanks in advance, jhorner ===== J.
