Funny you should ask...this topic has just been discussed on
this list....:-)

It's not a good idea to put your "/" file system on an LVM;
if you ever have any problems with the LVM itself (e.g., a
lost pv, say), then the Linux system can't be booted......

In other words, don't do this....
