Thanks for your time to check this out!

Now it would be nice to see, if there is such an option under the
ATI Windows driver/tool when running on an old MBP (C1D)...

And we should question the omega team or the programmers of the
ATI Tray tool, if they are querying any data from the BIOS to determine,
if it PowerPlay capable. If so, the bug is in the ATI driver, if not
it may still be in the BIOS...
