Depends what you are going to do afterwards. From a quick readaround, it seems Subara has dropped the ball with its CVT and faults are pretty much guaranteed. Mostly, they are minor but require major surgery for rectification. A cheap replacement allows you to go inside and check, fix or pre-emptively deal with those and you can then install and wave bye-bye.
