Hello Michael,

What I'm suggesting is that the final version of this software should not have 
a hard coded channel 10 exclusion.  I'm suggesting that the default studio have 
channel 10 marked as a fixed channel.

If we are worried about backwards compatibility, we could detect earlier 
versions on file load and set Instrument 10/channel 10 to be fixed.  This is 
similar to the way RG remapped channels to correspond with instrument numbers.  
Of course, files saved in the version that allow logical channels will not get 
the Instrument 10/channel 10 set to fixed when reloaded, since we know the user 
has had the opportunity to make the desired choice..

I don't see a real downside to his approach and the up side is that all 16 
channels are available as logical channels and we don't have to treat channel 
10 as special.
