You do not want bias on for a HC4, it is a dynamic insert.

Do you have MENU:MIC SEL set to FP.H? BIAS on? Mic gain
My guess would be that you have the wrong adapter. It needs to be the
Kenwood one. The settings should be FP-H and no bias.

I would love to see 3 things...
1) Receive EQ by mode
2) Monitor on the KDVR to not be in the TX chain
3) Decent Memory management
Anything else is a bonus but those are my wishes for 2010 :)
Seasons greetings to all the gang at Aptos!

Hi all,
I have been following this thread with interest. My experience is that my
K3 seems noisy at home where my ambient RF noise floor can be anything up to
s9 at times with the amount of RF producing electrical junk all around me.
However, when I use it at a 'quiet' location such as our

Yes, VAT was dropped to 15% last year for the recession. It goes back up in
January and I very much doubt it will be 17.5% as before!

Hi all,
For some reason my K3 will not switch off this morning. I hit the power off
button and it powers down and starts again immediately. Obviously it goes
off when I power the PSU down but it is somewhat annoying. I have
reinstalled the firmware in case of corruption but have not as yet done
a look at the KPA3 12V Sense Mod on the modification page.
It maybe the answer to your prayers.

Ian,
It sounds like something is activating the Remote Power On.
Do you have anything plugged into the ACC connector? Check it to see if
pin 8 is being shorted to ground.

Hi all,
I might be having a blonde moment but I am looking at the W2 and it seems to
me that with 2 sensors, it can act as an antenna switch too. Is this the
case or am I missing something?

You know what? That is a really great idea! What about an add on box that
gives a bank of programmable buttons? Should be cheap enough to produce and
could give band stacking etc? It would not have to just be for the sub but
could have tap for main, hold for sub etc?
