Yes. Fire uses AOL's public and open toc protocol. Fire used to be
susceptible to this stuff as well, but I got sick of it and moved to the
slower and less feature rich toc

need to use the official client (AIM or Yahoo) to delete the buddy and

Yeah - AOL stopped shipping buddy info over the TOC protocol. I believe
Adium Proteus are affected in the same manner (someone correct me if I
am wrong).
