Hotplugging sometimes attempts to load modules that don't
exist or are unwanted. This can be prevented by adding the

If I understand what you are asking for, which is to use an existing gentoo
computer as an installation server for another, is this correct?
If so, this may help:
1. On your new system, put these lines in your /etc/make.conf file:

Here is what I'm getting so far:
With netscape 4.79, I get the following before netscape just blows up and
aborts:
Reading config file for codecs

The log file doesn't show the usual module loading info. Even though it scans
your bus and finds the card, all the basic modules (libbitmap, libpcidata, etc)
aren't reported as loaded. Looking closer for the usual message about the
ModulePath (which doesn't require an XF86Config entry), I see
