Here lcms quits with: error 12288 Unknown output format - this is probably
due to an memory error. I could not find out were. lcms tries to load the
tables and gives following messages via valgrind:

That is because the lousy nature of JPEG compression. Good for RGB
photographical images, bad for line art. CMYK JPEG is also a bad idea.
I keep using TIFF as general purpose. PNG would work well too.
