I moved all .usr files to a USB drive, with none left in Legacy. After I did
Name List / Print / csv / print (it failed again) I found newly created .usr
files: Legacy, Legacy8, Legacy7, Legacy6
Subject: RE: [LegacyUG] runtime error 6
I did a little digging around Error 6 is an overflow error.
Delete all the files from the C:\Windows\Temp folder and delete the
grid.usr
file again. Next run File File Maintenance Check/Repair twice. Let me
know if that helps.
Thanks for using
for the suggestion anyway.

Hi Sherry,
I deleted all the files and subdirectories from the C:\Windows\Temp folder
and deleted the grid.usr file again. I restarted windows and retried

There is no limit. Some users have files with more than 300.000 entries.

Legacy seems to have a file size limit of 16,419 Individuals.
OK my main file has 27,000 Individuals but if I go to:
Name List / Print / CSV File
Individuals. (I originally could get 16,419 Individuals).

There is no limit to the number of individuals you can have in the Family
File. Access does have a limit to a database size, however. We recommend
that you don't go over 1 GB because if the file gets too big you

Hi Sherry,
Deleting grid.usr did almost nothing for me. Waiting to see what comes of
Glenna's new problem. For myself I can get the report using Access2000 so
Legacy seems to have a file size limit of 16,419 Individuals.
OK my main file has 27,000 Individuals but if I go to:
Name List / Print / CSV File / Print; I get to 60% and it stops with
runtime error 6. If I then look at the Temp.CSV file just created it
contains only the first 16,419
There is no limit. Some users have files with more than 300.000 entries.
