I don't think it's LyX because there wasn't an actual LyX upgrade. On another laptop, using this version of Debian testing and LyX, I expanded the TeX files I required a couple of days ago, Monday, and it didn't show the slowing behaviour either? It's not a big deal. Be well, Charlie --
