are currently at Short Pond, Scuttlehole Rd, near Cooks La.All are in the
water, except for the Eagle. Photos of all have been taken.

The previously reported Hudsonian Godwit it currently being seen from the
western shore of Mecox Bay, WaterMill. The bird is on the sand spit in the bay.
There is also one Lesser Black-backed Gull, Multiple Forsters Terns, Black
Skimmers, and Royal Terns.

At 9:10, four Ross's Geese, flying tightly together, approached the massive
group of Canada Geese, feeding at the north west side of Alvah's Lane,
Cutchogue. They did not land, however, and were last seen flying south west.

Seen flying overhead, around 10:45AM, circling the Ice Pond, was a Little Blue
Heron. We watched until we could no longer see it as it flew north east.
Other spring migrants included Pine Warblers, and Ruby-crowned Kinglets, and
Towhees.

structure in the cattle field, Mecox Rd and Halsey Lane, Bridgehampton.

A dozen Common Nighthawks were seen this evening, between 6:00pm and 6:30pm, at
the Boy Scout Camp, main entrance, along Sound Ave, Baiting Hollow. (There is

A second -hand report from Mike Higgiston, is that the flycatcher is currently
being seen in the same area as reported yesterday. It is flying between the
fences, but mostly along the wire fence, in the field south side of Montauk
Hwy, at The Ranch. Other observers are on site as well.

Currently being seen in flock of 800-1000 Canada geese. Corner of Sound Ave
and Northville turnpike. View from Sound Ave has Barnacle furthest west of
flock. Hunters are in the western field which borders Route 105.
This flock is in the triangle of 105, Sound Ave and Northville Tuenpike,near
All the geese on Sound and Northville Turnpike just were flushed by Hunters
approaching field. All still in air- flocks split in all directions.

Delalio sod fields - barely north of Rt 111 overpass. Across the road from
Route 51 Bike Path parking. In dirt just beyond sod grass. Two Buff-breasted

- there is possibly another breach of the dunes again near the
commercial dock. Equipment was attempting to pile more sand on the oceans
side, however two hours prior to high tide, the waves were already cresting

After arriving too late to see the White Pelican on Mill Pond in Sayville,

Seen at about 9:50AM, feeding at the wash over area at Tiana Beach Bayside- one
American Avocet. Photos taken.
The bird has flown west - and hopefully can be refound, perhaps at Pikes or
Cupsogue.

- there is possibly another breach of the dunes again near the
commercial dock. Equipment was attempting to pile more sand on the oceans
side, however two hours prior to high tide, the waves were already cresting
over the
dune, and spilling on to Dune Rd.

For those intending on heading to Dune Rd, the Road is closed from Ponquogue
Beach, Ocean side to the Inlet (West Side of Shinnecock Inlet. Police are
blocking all access. I’m assuming the Dune has been breeched again.

After arriving too late to see the White Pelican on Mill Pond in Sayville,
while heading west on Montauk Hwy, we saw two adult Bald Eagles, on a nest atop
the communication tower easily seen from the corner of Hanson and Montauk Hwy.

Lighthouse, by an Eastern Long Island Audubon Society Field Trip.

led Cuckoo was heard - all on the water tower access road. A Solitary
Sandpiper made a brief stop by a large muddy puddle in the main clearing.

A brief flurry of warbler activity this AM at QWR (finally!!), including
Black-throated Blue, Redstart, Magnolia, Common Yellowthroat, Parula,
Yellow-rump. All were seen pond-side near the entrance. Also seen were Cedar
Waxwings, Wood Duck (under the feeders!) and a Red-eyed Vireo.

A word of caution - both East Landing and West Landing Roads in Hampton Bays
are Beach Permit parking areas from 9am-9pm. Although usually not heavily
visited, one does run the risk of getting a parking ticket on either road.

Yellow-crowned Night Heron, along with the usually expected terns and
shorebirds.
Before the tide began rising, dozens of Snowy Egret and Great Egrets filled the
side of road ditches - an amazing sight!
