Thanks to Hoya, the K-5 had quite poor autofocus, especially in low light.

the other hand, the K-5II and IIs (I have both) have excellent AF.

To be honest, I'm not expecting to shoot Kestrels, but a hummingbird
might be nice. A little more predictable around the feeder for sure.

Yup. I tried emailing that site a couple of days ago. Haven't heard
from them. I live in Austin. Don't know of anybody with a K-1 here
and our best photo store is a Canikon denhouse.

I had the same experience when using the new 28-105. This lens has the
focusing ring very close to the body. The lens has manual focus overide
and the ring turns too easy. Quite often I touch it unintentionally
after autofocusing.

Yep. I use AFC in select 9. Works great for sports and race cars. But any time
I might want to focus and reframe, I of course go back to S mode. K-1 autofocus
is very good if you manage it well.
