that is no longer used. I have no time to clean it out
but the system itself chugs along quite fast and quite happily. I would
look to the way the modem is routed and hit CTRL/ALT/DEL and check the
system processes and CPU usage to see where the problems are.

dial up and uku are just free. It is not really hard to hand set up a
machine and I would never use an installation CD - you don't know what

the Microsoft site and download the SP4. The pack you need to download
is the one for network users. This is because people with multiple

PC (1.6GHz P4) it is a bit faster but I could use it OK on
the Q 40. Most of the speed loss is in drawing the menus I think and
that is something that needs addressing in ProWesS itself rather than by
using a faster CPU. This is the Microsoft approach.

not have to load any software it is all built into SMSQ/E which
looks at the highest port first and then the next in line until it finds
(or not) a mouse. It then loads the software. I have a mouse that works
I can send it to you if you want.

because it constantly has to refresh all those files.

Sorry to labour the point, not only I, but hundreds of others,
have purchased multiple copies of SMSQ/E with various bits and
bobs over many years. Don't tell me now that the copies Roy Wood
sells of SMSQ Gold which has been altered (not just repaired) is
illegal, and that I am a pirate.
