My colleague is running a 1997 Peugeot 406 and the pump appears to be
intolerant of Bio. It would appear that if you run with 100% Bio then the
viscosity is higher and the rotary control (managed by the engine management
system) situated within the diesel pump couldn't compensate. This leads to the
engine running poorly at tick over and can cut out. This problem may be limited
to only a few pumps say the Lucas technical people as pumps found in the Ford
Transit have rotary controls and management systems that can cope with a wider
viscosity range and they recalibrate themselves "on the fly"

Lucas say that the only way to prove this is by removing the pump and running
tests on this particular unit which will prove very expensive. The problem
seems to be easing now he has put Dino-diesel back in the car.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem with Biodiesel and lucas pumps?
