Currently, the only types of 3D adapters that are known to work with VirtualGL on the server end are ATI and nVidia, and you have to install the proprietary vendor-supplied drivers to get Pbuffer support. Also, have you first verified that 3D acceleration works with VirtualBox on your system running locally (without VirtualGL)?
