It's also interesting to note that a lot of the ingredients discussed in
this thread have been mentioned in connection with Papp's "noble gas
engine" -- heavy atoms whose electron fields could potentially expand,
hydrogen (presumably with deuterium), and possibly an alpha or beta
emitter.  It would not be too surprising if further research eventually
shows that a noble gas engine is a real possibility.
