Hi Reed,

yea, great, well... I thought simply to write a perl converter while I read some vos content code snipets (sorry you c++ gods:
perl nearly only I know nesides c and c++ fragments ;)

Way back a long time ago we had VOS bindings for Perl. Currently we're doing the same thing but with Python. I'd love to have Perl supported again, but given all the other things we have to work on, it's not that high on the list of priorities -- unless someone wants to contribute!

-Well before you think to waste your time on game content, there is pretty much content on vrml-designers looking for a free system, only was what I tried to say.

We have been starving for content, and I think that's been one of our biggest stumbling blocks on attracting interest. We don't have much pretty graphical content to show off what VOS can do, so people arn't very impressed, so they don't help out, so we still don't have anything... etc. So this is a good time for artists to join up, your work is going to get seen by everyone :-)

So we would absolutely be interested in working with you to bring in VRML content -- we can help each other. VRML support has been on the drawing board for a long time. In fact we have been working closely with Braden McDaniel, the author of OpenVRML. As Reed stated, he has a partially working implementation and handling static content shouldn't be too hard.

Well we should give it a try if static content works? I can give you vrml models to try to convert, humm.. we could try IFS, material...

Yes! By all means, please send us some sample models to work with. I can't promise something immediately (Reed and I are very busy, and it is the holidays after all) but it is an ongoing effort and simply having some good VRML files to work with for testing purposes would be extremely helpful.
