IIRC Clemens Ladisch suggested upgrading to the latest ALSA, but I have not yet done so. I solved my problem with the MidiSport by replacing it with a UA25. :) I've been advised that the problem with the MidiSport could be difficult to ascertain, perhaps due to the closed-source firmware required (?). Until someone tests it with the latest kernel/ALSA the issue remains open. I currently have no time to put into further tests of the MidiSport. I am completely swamped with business and other obligations these days.
