The newer Lite-on drives can be flaky.  Try cleaning it.
Try the drive alone in Master mode.
Does this region free program modify the firmware?  This may have
messed something up with the drive's controller.  Try reflashing the
lastest version of the firmware from http://www.liteon-it.com.tw
