Hello Jim
This is no longer the case, at least in the UK, where the prices
have reduced drastically. The trend amongst young folk is so called
Minimalistic, which is basically no clutter and they don't like
bulky in your face unsightly towers, monitors, keyboards and mice;
they prefer a wifi notebook because it can be transported anywhere,
used on the way to and from work, watching TV, playing games or
watching dvd's. As a result prices have literally tumbled and even
I can afford one ha ha!
They are even cheaper in India where they do not come burdened and
bundled with Bill's OS and other programs, instead they come with
Linux and Open Office.
I also notice that a lot of you folk in the US are still in the dark
ages using dial up at 56k max. Most folk in the UK are now 2.2 mbps
broadband, which may soon be upgrading to 8 mbps. Do you still use
the Pony Express ha ha!
