It doesn't go through the shut down process. It shuts off as if I pulled the plug. The very first time I turned it on I got
some sort of message about the battery, but it went by so fast I couldn't read it and I haven't seen it again. Like I said before I know nothing about laptops. If it's plugged in, why do I have to worry about the battery?
