Locate exactly where it is getting hot. Is the heat present when the battery
is installed? The other place that can get hot is the processor, but that
seems unlikely with an older notebook. A drive can get hot if it is not
ventilated well. Are there any fans blowing. If not that cause some parts
that consume power to heat up.
